About BritCham Cambodia

Our Story

Established in 1995, the British Chamber of Commerce (BritCham) Cambodia stands as the most active Chamber in Cambodia, offering strategic partnerships, market insights, and dynamic networking opportunities in Cambodia and more. The British Chamber of Commerce (BritCham) Cambodia is an non-profit entity focused on fostering trade, business, investment, and professional between the United Kingdom and Cambodia.

The story begins around 1993, when British businessman David Burns gathered a small group of entrepreneurs at the recently reopened British Embassy in Phnom Penh. Encouraged by British Ambassador H.E. Paul Reddicliffe, and led by Seneka Fernando, the group formalised what would become the British Business Association of Cambodia (BBAC). The decade from 2013 onward transformed BritCham Cambodia from an informal club into a professional, forward-looking Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber’s focus in 2025 has been one of rebuilding, renewal, and reconnection. Following a period of significant challenge during the pandemic years, membership had fallen to just twenty companies. The priority was therefore clear: to revitalise BritCham’s membership base, reintroduce engaging events that had long been absent, embrace digital communication and social media, and re-establish close collaboration with the British Embassy. At the same time, the Chamber sought to modernise its governance by re-registering and professionalising its accounts, ensuring that BritCham would remain in good standing and financially sound for the decades ahead.

By the time of the Annual General Meeting in April 2025, membership had tripled to sixty. As BritCham marked its 30th anniversary in November 2025, the Chamber proudly celebrated a milestone, reaching 100 members.
